With Windows XP, Server 2003, Vista and 2000, log on as a user with Ad- ministrator privileges to install the driver.
Installing using Plug and Play on Windows XP/Server 2003

If the driver is installed using Plug and Play, first the TWAIN driver is in- stalled, and then installation of the printer driver begins. The procedure described in this manual is for the installation of the TWAIN driver, then the printer driver. For details on the printer driver, refer to the User’s Guide for the GDI printer driver or the image controller

When using Windows XP (Service Pack 2), the following dialog box may appear, requesting confirmation to connect to Windows Update. At this time, select “No, not this time”, and then click the [Next] button.
Follow the instructions that appear in the Found New Hardware Wizard to complete the installation.
1 Select “Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)”, and then click the [Next] button.
2 Select “Include this location in the search” as the location to be searched for the driver, and then specify the following folder on the CD- ROM as the location where the driver is saved.
–Folder to be specified: \Driver\WIN2K_XP\English
–With
–The folder can be selected after clicking the [Browse] button.
3 Click the [Next] button.
–When the Windows logo testing warning message appears, click the [Continue Anyway] button.
