To avoid running out of memory

■Erase locked or unlocked messages that you no longer need. When the phone is out of memory and all text messages are locked, it no longer accepts new messages and this message displays:

The network may try to deliver lost messages later.

Locking and unlocking text messages

To prevent messages from being automatically deleted if the phone is out of memory, you can lock them. You can manually erase a text message even if it is locked.

To lock or unlock text messages

1.Press .

2.Press text. The newest text message displays.

3.Press view to display more detail, if available, which automatically scrolls on the screen and pauses so that you can read it. Press a scroll key to manually scroll.

4.Scroll to the bottom of the message and press opts.

5. Press abc 2 for Lock or def 3 for Unlock.

The lock indicator or the unlock indicator displays to the left of the SMART KEY options.
