SCSI status responses

In the SCSI communication mode, a function is considered

 

incomplete until a valid status response is received from the other

 

end of the SCSI link. There are three valid SCSI status

 

responses:

Good Status

00H

The frame was successfully

 

 

 

received and individual fields

 

 

 

within the frame contained legal

 

 

 

characters.

 

 

 

 

 

Check Condition

02H

A special condition occurred. A

 

Status

 

SCSI Request Sense command

 

 

 

is required to obtain information

 

 

 

about the cause of the condition.

 

 

 

Some host adapters

 

 

 

automatically perform a Request

 

 

 

Sense command.

 

 

 

 

 

Busy Status

08H

Target is unable to accept

 

 

 

commands at the present time.

 

 

 

Host should try again. The host

 

 

 

should wait a minimum of 100

 

 

 

milliseconds before trying again.

 

 

 

 

 

NOTE: "H" in the list above indicates hexadecimal notation.
