management console. This event adapter lets administrators use the Tivoli event console to monitor printer events across a range of devices in real time. For Tivoli to display printer events, the Tivoli event adapter must first be set up by creating an action in MarkVision Messenger.

Software Installation and Distribution Tools (on CD)

In Windows XP, Windows NT 4.0 and Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000 environments, these tools enable administrators to push Lexmark software installation to other workstations or to write a script that will install specified Lexmark software on specified workstations on the network. In Windows 9X environments, it enables administrators to write installation scripts that can be then distributed to other workstations. When executed, these scripts will silently install all Lexmark software that is specified.

Setup

The Lexmark X850e includes information for customer setup of each part that is shipped.

Application Solutions

Only one firmware solution card may be installed in the MFP at a time.

Host Software

The Lexmark Printing Solution for Novell systems offers administrators more control over Lexmark MFPs. This all-inclusive package provides support for both NDPS and iPrint printing systems on NetWare 5.1, 6.0 and 6.5 servers. The package consists of Novell’s NDPS gateway coupled with Lexmark’s custom control snap- ins for both NetWare Administrator (NWAdmin) and iManager. By offering custom support for both NetWare Administrator and iManager management utilities, this offering allows administrators to take full control of Lexmark MFPs in a Novell printing environment.

Windows Custom Drivers (on CD)

Lexmark offers custom PCL emulation and PostScript drivers for Windows systems. Custom drivers for Windows provide the most comprehensive set of printing features available for Lexmark products. Offering an easy-to-use interface and time-saving preset features, Lexmark custom drivers allow users to access popular MFP features intuitively.

Windows System Drivers (on Lexmark.com)

System drivers for Windows provide users with basic printing capabilities for their Lexmark MFPs. Built on Microsoft technology, system drivers mix key Lexmark MFP capabilities with Microsoft’s rendering engine to provide a solid, no-frills driver. Lexmark system drivers are available in PCL emulation and PostScript versions.

Mac OS X and Mac OS 9 Printing Support

Lexmark provides full PostScript support of all printing features in Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X. From basic to advanced printing features like auto-setup, faxing, MFP sharing and MFP pooling, Lexmark’s software for Mac OS provides the world-class ease of use and quality that consumers and power-users alike have come to expect.

Lexmark MFP Drivers for UNIX and Linux systems

Lexmark MFP drivers reduce the complications of printing in UNIX and Linux environments. Built on the LPRng printing system, Lexmark MFP drivers provide fully scriptable command-line options. When running in X-Windows mode, Lexmark MFP drivers make it easy to access many popular MFP features without memorizing command line options through a GUI interface.

Microsoft Windows Certification

Lexmark laser MFPs include Microsoft Certified and digitally signed MFP drivers. The driver certification indicates a high level of compatibility between the Windows operating system and the Lexmark MFP. MFP drivers for these products have received certification under the following operating systems
