The command above sets horizontal tabs, where <nQ, and cd> are binary values representing the new tab positions. If no values are given, all tab stops are cleared. The default tab setting is every eight characters. Tabs are set at the current character pitch. If proportional spacing has been selected, then pica pitch is used for determining the positions of the tabs. In Standard mode, once the tabs have been set, the position of the tabs will remain the same if the character pitch is changed. In the IBM mode, the tab settings will change relative to the new character pitch if the character pitch is changed.
