When installing High-Rate Wireless LAN PC Cards, the channel configuration is managed as follows:

For wireless clients that operate in a High-Rate Wireless LAN Infrastructure, the High-Rate Wireless LAN PC Card automatically starts operation at the channel identified by the access points. When roaming between different access points, the station can dynamically switch to another channel if required.

For High-Rate Wireless LAN PC Cards installed into wireless clients that operate in an Peer-to-Peer workgroup mode, the PC Card will use channel 10 by default.

When inserted into a access point, the High-Rate Wireless LAN PC Card will use the factory-set default channel, unless the LAN Administrator selected a different channel when configuring the access point device.
