Upgrading the Cisco 2821 and Cisco 2851 Fan Unit

Replacing the Router Cover

Note Before you begin, read the safety warnings as described in the “Safety Warnings and Guidelines” section on page 2.

To replace the chassis cover on a Cisco 2821 or Cisco 2851 router, follow these steps. You need a number 2 Phillips screwdriver.

Step 1 Place the chassis on a flat surface.

Step 2 Hold the cover at a 45-degree angle, and insert the tabs into the slots along the front (bezel) edge of the chassis, as shown in Figure 8.
