LOCAL MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS

This chapter describes how to attach a Local Management terminal to the Cabletron Systems host device, and lists the setup and conﬁguration requirements for the following equipment:

•Console/terminal

•Console cable

•Console cable connections

2.1CONFIGURING A LOCAL MANAGEMENT TERMINAL

The following instructions explain how to conﬁgure your management terminal (console) to communicate with Local Management. Refer to your speciﬁc management terminal manual for more instructions if necessary.

To access Local Management, use one of the following systems:

•Digital Equipment Corporation VT series terminal

•VT type terminal running emulation programs for the Digital Equipment Corporation VT series

•IBM or compatible PC running a VT series emulation software package
