Monitor Applications
The VTG can be used in a variety of monitor testing and adjustment applications using the 16 available test patterns. Following is a brief summary of some of the uses in these types of applications.
•Color convergence or registration can be done using any of the crosshatch or dot patterns. (See figures
•Focusing can be adjusted using several of the test patterns including the dot pattern, crosshatch, H pattern white on black, and other patterns with single pixel lines.
•The 3 checkerboard patterns can be used to check color tracking of video amplifiers, adjust raster cutoff levels, evaluate video amplifier clamp stability and CRT high voltage regulation.
•Common uses for the VTG color bar patterns on TTL monitors, include testing
•The alternating pixel patterns can be used for: display resolution check, video bandwidth performance, and EMI radiation testing.
•Grayscale can be checked and adjusted on monochrome monitors using the
