FBoot Up Floppy Seek

MDuring POST, BIOS w ill determine the floppy disk drive installed is 40 or 80 tracks. 360 K ty pe is 40 tracks 720 K, 1.2 M and 1.44 M are all 80 tracks.

BIOS searches for floppy disk driv e to determine it is 40 or 80 tracks. Note

 

that BIOS can not tell from 720 K, 1.2 M or 1.44 M driv e ty pe as they are

 

all80tracks.

8Disabled

BIOS w ill notsearch for the ty pe of floppy disk driv e by track number. Note

 

thatthere w ill not be any warning message if the driv e installed is 360 K.
