The driver loads from the CD-ROM.

8Click Finish to complete the driver installation. You are now ready to begin using your external drive.

Windows® Me Operating System

1Turn on your computer.

2Insert the driver software CD into your computer’s CD-ROM drive. The Add New Hardware Wizard appears.

3Select “Automatic search for a better driver (Recommended)” and click Next. The driver loads from the CD-ROM.

4Click Finish to complete the driver installation.

You are now ready to begin using your external drive.

Windows® 2000/XP Operating System

Installing the Default Driver

Installing the default driver from your operating system allows for instant access to your drive and uses fewer resources, such as memory and drive space, allowing your computer to run more efficiently.

To install the default drivers:

1Turn on your computer.

2Insert the driver software CD into your computer’s CD-ROM drive.

The Found New Hardware Wizard appears and the operating system installs the drivers automatically. No other steps are necessary.
