6. Maintenance

This section describes the simple maintenance procedures you should follow to clean the filter and replace the lamp.

Cleaning or Replacing the Filter

The air-filter sponge keeps dust and dirt from getting inside the projector and should be frequently cleaned. If the filter is dirty or clogged, your projector may overheat.

CAUTION

Turn off the projector, turn off the main power switch and unplug the projector before replacing the filter.

Only clean the outside of the filter cover with a vacuum cleaner.

Do not attempt to operate the projector without the filter cover.

NOTE:

When the projector reaches the usage time (500 hours at the factory) specified with [Filter message] from the menu, each time you turn on the projector, the "Please clean the filter" message will be displayed (page 51). When this message is dis- played, clean the filters and reset the Filter counter (page 55).

The "Please clean the filter" message will disappear when any button on the projector or the remote control is pressed.

[LV-7265/LV-7260/LV-X7]

When the Filter counter reaches 100 hours in [Usage time] of [Information] you can select from the menu, each time you turn on the projector, the "Please clean the filter" message will be displayed. When this message is displayed, clean the filters and reset the Filter counter (page 55).

The "Please clean the filter" message will disappear when any button on the projector or the remote control is pressed.

To clean the air-filter:

Vacuum the filter through the filter cover.

To reset the filter usage time, from the menu, select [Reset] [Filter counter].

See also page 55 for resetting the filter usage time.

To replace the filter (sponge):

1.Remove the filter cover by pushing down on the catch of the cover until you feel it detach.
