Next Generation Information System

(NGIS) Tool

The NGIS tool (purchased separately) is a portable, hand-held tool. The Pathfinder 2001 (or newer) soft- ware and the ABS / Air Bag 2004 software must be installed in the NGIS tool before you can use the NGIS tool for testing the air bag and brake systems.

This User Guide assumes you are familiar with using the NGIS tool. If necessary, refer to the User Guide for the NGIS tool. As a quick reference, the NGIS keys are listed below.

Function keys (four of them) - each key executes a com- mand that corresponds with an option listed at the bottom of the screen.

Direction key (four directions: Up, Right, Down, and Left) - Up and Down select a menu option or a data field, or scroll through a screen of text. Left and Right move between fields or change the data entry within a field.

HELP - displays helpful information about the currently- displayed screen.

ENTER - executes a selected menu option or screen.

MENU - displays the NGIS tool’s main menu (the Appli- cation Manager screen).

EXIT - moves back one screen.
