LED Descriptions

The front panels of the FS517TS and FS524S Switches have LEDs that provide a quick and accurate display of port speed, activity, collisions, duplex mode, as well as activity between stacked switches. Table 2-1 summarizes the LEDs on the FS517TS and FS524S Switches. A detailed description of the LEDs follows the table.

Data transmission is occurring on the port.

Data collision is occurring on the port. The rate at

 

 

 

which this LED blinks corresponds to the number of

 

 

 

collisions. When a collision occurs, the connected

 

 

 

device pauses and transmits again after waiting a

 

 

 

specified time.

 

 

 

 

Stack

Green

A valid link is established on the stacking port.

 

 

Off

A link is not established on the stacking port.

 

 

Blinking

Packet transmission or reception is occurring on
