DESCRIPTION

This cable lets you test a suspect DSU by connecting it to a known good DSU. It tests the suspect DSU by connecting its Transmit signal to the Receive circuits of the good DSU. You can order this cable from Multi- Tech (#45050000), or build one using the instructions below. Refer to Chapter 4 for test procedures.

BUILD INSTRUCTIONS

1.Strip cable installation 3/4".

2.Strip wires 1,2,7 and 8 on one end of cable and 8,7,2 and 1 on other end 1/4".

3.Cut unstripped wires off.

4.Solder wire 1 on one connector to 8 on the other.

5.Solder wire 2 on one connector to 7 on the other.

6.Solder wire 7 on one connector to 2 on the other.

7.Solder wire 8 on one connector to 1 on the other.

8.Cover solder connections with 1" of shrink tube.
