1: Introduction

Supported iOS Devices

xPrintServer supports all iOS-enabled AirPrint applications. AirPrint is included in all newer generation Apple® devices with iOS 4.2 and later. These include:

iPad, iPad2 and iPad3

iPhone (3GS or later)

iPod Touch (3rd generation or later)

Supported Printers and Printer Protocols

Note: Supported printers should be directly attached to the network (wired or wirelessly).

The xPrintServer supports printers that support one of the following transport protocols and Page Description Language (PDL):

JetDirect (also known as AppSocket)

LPD

LPR

IPP

HTTP

The following PDL is supported:

PCL 4, 5 and 6

Postscript

Supported DHCP Configuration

xPrintServer supports DHCP-assigned IP Addresses. The following items are configured via Static IP or DHCP.
