Network Configuration

Network Configuration

This section describes the network settings necessary to communicate with the Ethernet Adapter.

Communicating directly with the Ethernet Adapter provides:

the ability to use the serial port applications.

the ability to ping the Ethernet Adapter.

the ability to remotely configure the Ethernet Adapter via the telnet protocol. To configure the network settings, perform the following:

1)Ensure that you complete the PC card Card Configuration section on page

configuration described in the PC 4-12.

2)Click on the Network Tab.

3)Click on the Basic tab. The Network Basic tab page is shown in Figure 4-7.

4)Enter the IP address that you want assigned to the Ethernet Adapter. The IP address is the network address that will be used by other computers to communicate with the Ethernet Adapter.

5)Enter the Netmask. This is a value that defines the range of IP addresses available within your local network.
