26 Replacing the Coin-Cell Battery

WARNING: The battery may explode if installed incorrectly. Replace the battery only with the same or equivalent type. Discard used batteries according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Procedure

Connect the coin-cell battery cable to the system-board connector.

Postrequisites

1Follow the instructions from step 2 to step 5 in "Replacing the System Board" on page 61.

2Replace the hard drive. See "Replacing the Hard Drive" on page 37.

3Replace the battery. See "Replacing the Battery" on page 33.

4Replace the palm-rest assembly. 
