Chapter 3 Configuration

3.1 Auto Search

EDG-4508+ and EDG-4516+ provides an easy-to-use configuration util- ity to configure your Ethernet Data Gateway Device through an Ethernet connection. The utility provides an auto-search function to show your device(s) by simply executing the configuration utility program from the Start Menu as follows.

Start Menu --> All Program --> Advantech --> EDG COMPort

This EDG configuration utility will automatically search all the EDG devices on the network and show them on the left side of the utility. From here you can easily configure various parameters for TCP/IP configura- tion. (In this example, the system finds the Ethernet Data Gateway device for ADAM-4570 & EDG-4516+ in a local network)
