Web management interface basics

A BayStack 380-24F Gigabit Switch includes a Web management interface that lets you monitor your switch through a World Wide Web browser from anywhere on the network. The Web interface provides some of the more popular monitoring and configuration features of the Device Manager software.

This chapter provides an overview of the Web management interface and its navigation features. For information about specific Web management pages, check the online Help in the Web management interface. For information about using the Web management interface to configure and manage the switch, refer to Using Web-Based Management for the BayStack 380-24FGigabit Switch.

Requirements

To use the Web-based management interface you need:

A computer connected to any of the network ports

One of the following Web browsers installed on the computer:

Microsoft Internet Explorer, version 4.0 or later

Netscape Navigator*, version 4.51 or later

The IP address of the switch
