dard 15 amp IEC receptacle at the rear of the amplifier chassis. Two XA200’s may be run on a single 15-amp circuit. This amplifier is equipped for operation with an earth ground provided by the users AC outlet. Never defeat this ground connection. The signal ground of this amplifier is connected to earth through a power thermistor, which provides a safety ground but provides protection from irritating ground loops.

As a safety issue we suggest that the power cord should be the last cable installed on your power-amplifier. You may, if you wish, substi- tute a 15-amp aftermarket power cord for the one we have supplied. Only use power cords, which meet all local safety standards and carry acceptance marks from the local regulatory authority. The power cord should be attached to the amplifier prior to plugging into house power. Place the rear mounted switch in the off (down) position before plug- ging in this amplifier.

The amplifier’s voltage and current rating are indicated on the rear panel. It will be either 240 volts, 220 volts, 120 volts or 100 volts, all with a restorable type circuit breaker of the appropriate ampacity. The inclusion of this re-settable circuit breaker does away with the need for disposable fuses. The frequency rating of the AC line source is 50 to 60 Hz in all cases. Please verify that the amplifiers indicated voltage requirements are consistent with the supplied voltage and current at your location. Transformers are input voltage specific and their change is not a trivial matter.

Looking at the rear panel you will see the AC power cord receptacle, a power switch / breaker, two pairs of output connectors which allow for speaker bi-wiring, a single pair of 5 way connectors for remote turn-on, a single RCA input connector and a single XLR balanced input connector.

Make sure that the rear panel power switch/breaker is off (down). Plug the AC cord into the back of the amplifier, and then into the wall. Then turn the power switch/breaker on (up). The lights in your house will blink when the power supply charges the capacitors. (Note: The power switch/breaker is never to be used as a “safety device” or “emer- gency disconnect” for this product. This device provides current limit- ing which will protect the amplifier, it will not provide personal shock protection in the event of a reversed hot / neutral, lack of grounding or other improper wiring in the supplied mains voltage.)

On the front panel, the “Standby” LED indicator should be glowing blue, indicating that AC power is available and the capacitor banks are

XA200 specifications

The Pass Labs XA200 is a distinguished power amplifier that is acclaimed for its exceptional performance and remarkable build quality. Designed for audiophiles who demand the highest fidelity in their audio systems, the XA200 offers a unique blend of power, clarity, and musicality that sets it apart from the competition.

At the heart of the XA200 is a Class A topology, renowned for its ability to deliver pure and uncolored sound. This design ensures that the amplifier operates in its most linear region, providing a smooth and accurate response across the frequency spectrum. With an impressive output of 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and effectively doubling that power into 4 ohms, the XA200 is capable of driving even the most demanding loudspeakers with ease.

One of the standout features of the XA200 is its innovative use of the Pass Labs’ patented Feedforward error correction technology. This groundbreaking approach reduces distortion to extremely low levels, enabling the XA200 to produce a highly detailed and transparent soundstage. Additionally, the amplifier employs a combination of high-quality components, including custom-designed power supply transformers and large reservoir capacitors, to ensure stable operation under various load conditions.

The build quality of the XA200 is also noteworthy. Encased in a robust chassis with a striking aesthetic, this amplifier not only looks elegant but is designed to minimize vibration and resonance. The dual mono configuration of the XA200 ensures that each channel operates independently, further enhancing the overall sound quality and separation of instruments.

In terms of connectivity, the XA200 is equipped with balanced XLR inputs and single-ended RCA inputs, allowing for versatile integration into different audio setups. It also features a switching power supply that enhances its efficiency, ensuring that the amplifier remains cool even during extended listening sessions.

Overall, the Pass Labs XA200 is a testament to the brand’s commitment to excellence in high-end audio. Its combination of power, advanced technologies, and impeccable build quality makes it an ideal choice for audiophiles seeking a rich and immersive listening experience.
