Getting Set Up

Turn on the printer

C A U T I O N

To protect your printer from a power surge, make sure that the printer’s power switch is in the off position before plugging in the cord. Failure to do so may damage the printer.

1.Plug the power cord into the printer and into a grounded outlet.

2.Turn on the power to any peripherals you have connected.

3.Wait about 10 seconds, then turn on the printer.

The printer goes through a series of self-tests and warm-up, taking about 17 minutes. During the warm-up, a Cleaning Page will print.

As the printer warms up, you will hear a series of noises; these are normal and are not an indication of problems with the printer.
