Step 5 Windows will complete the installation process. To check whether your modem was installed correctly, as well as determine what COM port and IRQ are assigned to the modem in Windows 95, click on the Modems icon in Control Panel and click Diagnostics. Click on the COM Port icon to select it then click More Info to view the modem properties.

Step 4 Remember this COM port number. When you install your Data/Fax soft- ware, you will need to set your modem port location to this same number.
