Installing the Router in a Rack

1.Check the rack.

Ensure that the rack is safely secured and that it will not tip over. Devices in a rack should be installed starting at the bottom, with the heavier devices near the bottom of the rack.

Ensure the rack has sufficient space for the router and its associated cables. The router is 1U high.

2.Unscrew the feet from the router, if you have previously attached them.

3.Install cage nuts at the front of the rack so they are ready for the rack-mount screws in the following steps.

4.Connect one bracket to each side of the router using the supplied screws (see figure below).

5.Mount the router into the rack from the front, and tighten the 4 rack-mount screws.

Two people are required at this point. One person can lift the router into the rack and attach it to the front rails, while the second person safely supports it from the rear.
