AR750S-DP Secure VPN Router

Before installing

Unpack the router and verify the package contents. If any items are damaged or missing, contact your sales representative.

If you have purchased any Port Interface Cards (PICs), you will need the PIC and PIC Quick Install Guide. Read “Installing PICs” on page 6 for further details.

Read the safety information “Safety” on page 25.

Read the appropriate instructions for installing the router:

“Installing the Router in a Rack” on page 7

“Installing the Router on a Level Surface” on page 8

Gather the necessary tools and equipment. These depend on where you want to install the router:

To install the router in a rack, you need:

the rack mount bracket kit included with your router

a Phillips #1 screwdriver

screws and cage nuts to attach the brackets to your rack.

To install the router on a level surface, you need:

the five rubber feet included with your router

a Phillips #1 screwdriver

Installing PICs

If you purchased optional Port Interface Cards (PICs), install them by following their Quick Install Guide. That guide can be found with the PIC, on the Documentation and Tools CD-ROM, or can be downloaded from www.alliedtelesis.com/support/documentation/
