System Security

The Setup program has a number of security features to prevent unauthorized access to the system and its data.

The following screen appears if you select System Security from the Main menu:

Setup Password

The Setup Password prevents unauthorized access to the BIOS utility.

To set or change a Password:

1.Make sure that JP3 is set to 2-3 (bypass password). See Jumpers and Connectors for the location of JP3.

You cannot enter the BIOS utility if a Setup password does not exist and JP3 is set to 1-2 (check password).

By default, JP3 is set to 2-3 (bypass password).

2.Enable the Setup Password parameter in the System Security

menu by pressing or . The Setup Password window appears:
