Operator maintenance

Cleaning outside of the scanner

Clean the scanner at least once a month.

Turn the power off.

Clean the cover with a soft cloth.

Radiation Vent

Remove dirt and dust from the radiation vent with a brush.

Cleaning inside the scanner

Clean the scanner at least once a week or every 20,000 scans, whichever comes first.

1 Clean the rollers and sensors if paper jamming, marking or multiple-sheet feeding occurs frequently. See page 36.

2 Clean the CIS front and back glass and sensor rollers if vertical lines appear on the scanned images. See page 39.

3 To maintain proper scanning, clean the scanner components frequently and use clean paper.
