522D-SS Dipole/Bipole Operation
To the question: “What setting is right for me - dipole or bipole?”, there is no “correct” answer since it is determined by your personal circumstances and style. If these speakers are set up properly, the “dipole” switch setting will create a diffuse, subtle surround sound experience whereas the “bipole” setting will produce a more direct and obvious surround sound quality.
If your surround sound speakers are located more than 15 degrees behind the listening position on either the side or back wall, the general rule is for the speakers to be set to bipole mode.
