CHANGING THE SUBTITLE

LANGUAGE

DVD-A DVD-RW DVD-V

This DVD player has a function which allows you to select the desired language for subtitles.

1Press the SUBTITLE button during playback, and then press the SUBTITLE button to select the desired subtitle language.

¡The subtitle language can be changed if the subtitles are recorded in multiple languages on the DVD being played.

¡The subtitle language cannot be changed if the subtitles are recorded in a single language on the DVD being played.

¡The subtitle language resets to the one which has been selected in the setup mode, every time the power is turned on or discs are replaced. If that language is not available on a disc, a language defined by the disc is selected.

¡It may take time to display the subtitles in the selected language.

¡The screen display will disappear after about 5 seconds.

¡When “SUBTITLE NOT AVAILABLE” appears on- screen, it means no subtitle is recorded on the scene.

¡For DVD-RWs recorded with subtitles, select subtitle ON or OFF.

This DVD player has a function which allows you to select the desired camera angle.

1Press the ANGLE button during playback.

¡If the disc contains sequences recorded from different camera angles, the angle icon ( ) will appear at the top-right of the screen. You can change the camera angle when the icon appears on the screen.

¡The camera angle cannot be changed if the disc does not contain sequences recorded from different camera angles.

¡Pressing the SUBTITLE button cycles the subtitle language from SUBTITLE 1, SUBTITLE 2 and all the languages recorded.

2Press the ANGLE button while the angle number is shown on the screen.

¡Current subtitle mode will be displayed when you press the SUBTITLE button at first.

¡Press the SUBTITLE button, and then press the cursor (s/ B) button to set it to on or off.

¡If you choose a Language that has a 3 letter language code, the code will be displayed every time you change the Subtitle language setting. If you choose any other languages, ‘---’ will be displayed instead. (Refer to page 30.)
