1STANDBY indicator

Lights when the power cord is connected and the unit is on standby. When the unit is turned on, the STANDBY indicator goes off.

2STANDBY/ON button (18) Turns the unit on or off (standby).

3Remote sensor (17)

Receives signals from the remote control unit.

4Disc tray (18) Used to load a disc.

5 0 (OPEN/CLOSE) button (18) Used to open and close the disc tray.

6Display window (8)

Indicates the current status of the unit.

7 4/¢ (SKIP) buttons (19)

Used to skip a chapter, title or track. Also, used for the page selection of a menu screen (for Video CD). Holding down 4 or ¢during playback reverses or advances playback rapidly.

8 7 (STOP) button (19)

Stops playback. Also used to change the video output setting (See page 14).

9 3 (PLAY) button (19)

Starts playback. Also, used as a SELECT button for PBC of Video CDs.

0 8 (PAUSE) button (19)

Pauses playback. Also, used to display nine continuous still pictures (STROBE function).
