Adjusting the surround sound

You can select the simulated surround effect depending on the disc contents. If you connect the unit to your stereo system, you can enhance sound quality and produce a greater surround effect.

To simulate the surround sound [3D PHONIC]

1 Press 3D PHONIC .

2 Within 10 seconds, select the desired effect mode by pressing 3D PHONIC .

Each time you press , the

*When you play the DVD disc recorded in Dolby Digital and contains more than 3 channel sound, ACTION does not appears.

To erase the 3D PHONIC screen, press ENTER . The 3D PHONIC screen disappears if there are no operations for more than 10 seconds.

¦The sound effect (3D PHONIC) is possible only on discs which are recorded in DOLBY SURROUND or DOLBY DIGITAL. However, some DOLBY SU™™RROUND or DOLBY DIGITAL discs do not contain the rear sound signal, in this case, the setting can be changed but the sound effect cannot be obtained.

¦You can change the setting of the discs which do not contain the rear sound signal, but the sound effect cannot be obtained.

¦The sound effect is not possible, and will not work even if set when the unit outputs the DTS or Dolby Digital bitstream signal from the DIGITAL OUT jack.

¦The sound effect will not be set or operate, even if 3D PHONIC is pressed, on the sound of DVD discs recorded in Linear PCM.

¦When you set the 3D PHONIC function to on, the DOWN MIX and COMPRESSION setting in the PREFERENCE display are disabled.
