If the height of the obstruction on the roof is 6 inches, the antenna should be mounted no closer than 18 inches from the obstruction. If the obstruction is higher than 6 inches, you should add an additional 10 inches in distance for every additional 3 inches in height.

UNIT BASE

Mount the antenna on the center line of the vehicle. There are two options for mounting. Option A: Point the antenna directly toward the front of the vehicle with the cables and wiring exiting the rear, driver’s side, of the antenna.

Option B: Mount the antenna pointing directly towards the back of the vehicle with the cables and wiring exiting the front, passenger’s side, of the antenna.

Refer to the following drawings of Option A and Option B.

The mounting option will be one of the factors used to determine the correct switch set- ting in Section 3.6
