Set the clock before you try the Timer Recording. If a Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) is available in your area, follow the Auto Clock Setting below. If not, follow the Manual Clock Setting on page 22.

Auto Clock Setting

Make sure:

The antenna/Cable TV connec- tions are correct.

If this unit is connected to a Cable Box or Satellite Box, select the local PBS station on them to set the clock automatically.

Hit [SETUP] in the stop mode.

Easy Setting Menu or Advanced Setting Menu will appear.

If Advanced Setting Menu is dis- played, proceed to STEP 3.

Using [K / L], select

“Advanced Setting Menu”. Hit [ENTER].

Advanced Setting Menu will appear.

Using [K / L], select “Clock”.

Hit [ENTER].

Clock menu will appear.

If you do not know the PBS channel number in your area:

Using [K / L], select “Auto”. Hit [ENTER].

The setting will be activated.

If you know the PBS channel number in your area:

Using [K / L], select

“Manual”. Hit [ENTER].

Set Channel No.

Using the Number buttons or [K / L], enter the PBS channel number. Hit [ENTER].

The setting will be activated.

If you want to set the clock manually and cancel the auto clock setting:

Using [K / L], select “OFF”.

Hit [ENTER].

The auto clock setting will be canceled.

Hit [POWER] to turn off the unit.

This unit will search for the clock time only when the power is off. Leave it off for several minutes to give this unit time to set the clock on the front display panel.
