ST12450W (single-ended) drives are terminated with permanently mounted active IC terminators. If you install an ST12450W drive and it is not on the end of the SCSI bus, remove the jumper from pins 11 and 12 of connector J4 (see Figure 4).This disables the termina- tors on the drive. If you install an ST12450W drive on the end of the SCSI bus, ensure that a jumper is installed on pins 11 and 12 of connector J4.
Note. Use active t erminators when terminating the bus.
ST12450WD (differential) drives do not have internal terminators or any other way of adding internal termina- tion to the drive. You must provide external termination to these drives when termination is required.
