V-Chip

Television sets (U.S. only) come with V-Chip to block TV programming based on its rating. The V-chip feature automatically blocks TV programs and movies based on violence, sex, or other content you may believe inappropriate for children.

Using the remote control

Press V-CHIPon the remote control then enter the password* to show the V-Chip OSD menu. Use the d/c and e/f buttons on the remote control to select items in the menu. To go back to the main menu, press MENU.

Note: The default password is 1234.

Block MPAA Rating

The MPAA rating system uses the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) system, and its main application is for movies. You can block the categories by the following steps, and If you have blocked the rating, you will receive a rating message on the screen when you select the blocked program.

1.Select Block MPAA Rating and press ENTER.

2.Use d/c and select the categories to block.

Note: The V-Chip will automatically block certain categories that are “more restrictive”. If R category has been blocked, then NC-17 and X will also be automatically blocked.

PG

Parental guidance suggested. (Some material may not be suitable for

children)

 

PG-13

Parents strongly cautioned. (Some material may be inappropriate for children

under 13)

 

R

Restricted. (Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian.)

NC-17

No one 17 and under admitted.

XAdults only. No one under 17 admitted.
