• STB
Your Set Top Box
• Antenna
A device that collects and amplifies elctromagnetic waves.
• Coaxial cable
A specially designed and shielded cable that can transport signals with high frequency.
• CAM
Also called
• FEC (Forward Error Correction)
A system of error control for data transmission.
• Frequency
The number of cycles or events per one second, which is expressed in the unit of Hertz(Hz).
• IF (Intermediate Frequency)
A frequency to which a carrier frequency is shifted as an intermediate step in transmission or reception.
• MUX
The transmitter/frequency/channel where the programme provider/operator transmit a pack- age of digital channels/services. Usually there are several MUX frequencies with different or same content.
• Network
The collection of channels/services that a programme provider/operator offer. These ser- vices may be transmitted from one or several MUXes. In the transmitted data stream the operator may transmit a service information table (network information) that is informing the
