The tape counter:

indicates the elapsed time in the play and record modes (hours, minutes and seconds) ;

is reset when a cassette is inserted in the VCR ; and

enables you to find the beginning of a sequence easily.

To enable the remaining time to be calculated correctly, you must indicate the type of cassette being used. See page 23.

This function enables you to start a new recording at a specific position on the cassette while maintaining a very smooth scene change.

Insert the cassette to be edited in your VCR.

Press the PLAY button ( ) to start playback.

When you reach the position from which you wish to start the new

 

recording, press the P/STILL button (

1Insert a cassette in your VCR.

2Press CLK/COUNT twice.

Result: The tape counter is displayed:

0:00:00.

The tape counter does not necessarily start from zero at the beginning of the tape.

3Select the required operation (play, record, fast-forward, rewind). Result: The tape counter indicates how long the cassette has

been running.

4To set the tape counter to zero at the beginning of a sequence: press DISPLAY twice to display the counter ; and

press CLR/RST when you want to set the tape counter to zero.

5To fast-forward or rewind to the sequence at which the counter was set to zero, simply press REW ( ) or F.F ( ).

Result: The VCR stops automatically when the counter reaches zero.

Some VCR information, such as the counter, can be displayed on the television screen (unless you have deactivated the OSD mode; refer to page 16).

Press DISPLAY:

once to display the current function, programme number, recording speed, date, time and counter ;

twice to display the counter only ;

three times to display the time remaining on the cassette ; and

four times to clear the display.

While the VCR is in still mode, press the REC button to activate

 

the Assemble Edit function.

 

Result:

The Record symbol ( ) flashes on the display.

Select the source from which you wish to record by pressing:

 

the CH ( or

) buttons for television channels ; or

 

the INPUT button for the SC, AV, L I or L2 input sources.

Press the P/STILL button (

When you have finished recording, press STOP (
