Using the SET RATING feature (V-Chip control)

Some TV programs and movies include signals that classify the content of the program (dialog, language, sex, violence). The SET RATING feature in the V-CHIP CONTROL menu detects these signals and blocks programs according to your rating selections. This feature includes blocking for MPAA, YOUTH TV, and TV ratings, as described below and on the next page.

Note:

The V-Chip function is only available for the U.S. V-Chip system. The Canadian V-Chip system (Puce-V) is not supported.

To enable MPAA rating blocking and select the level of blocking:

1.Press MENU, and then press x or • until the SET UP menu appears.

3.Press the Channel Numbers (0–9) to enter your 4-digit PIN code (see page 29). The V-CHIP CONTROL menu opens.

4.Press y or z to highlight ENABLE BLOCKING.

5.Press x or • to select “Y” to enable blocking.

Note: The ENABLE BLOCKING setting does not affect the BLOCK CHANNEL feature.
