Q Why are there problems with teletext?

A Good performance of text depends on a good strong broadcast signal. This normally requires a

roof or loft aerial. If the Text is unreadable or garbled, check the aerial. Go to the main index page of the teletext service and look for the User Guide. This will explain the basic operation of teletext in some detail. If further information is needed on how to use text see the teletext section.

Q Why are there no teletext sub-pages?

A There are none broadcast or they have not yet loaded. Press the X(B) buttton to access.

Q Why are the colours wrong when an NTSC source is played?

A Connect the source via a Scart lead and play. Select the Set up menu.

Q Why is there no Dolby Surround?

A If surround sound effects are unavailable from the rear speakers whilst playing a Dolby Surround

video tape, check that the VCR is a stereo unit and is connected by a Scart lead. Then check the Surround set up in the Feature menu.

Q Why is there no Dolby Digital?

A If full Dolby Digital is unavailable, check that the Rear speaker option in Surround set up is set to

YES, that the equipment is connected by optical or coaxial cable as well as through a Scart socket or COMPONENT VIDEO OUTPUT. Also check that EXT2 or EXT4 is selected in AV connections.

If external front speakers are connected the External speaker switch must be set to EXT to get the full benefit of Dolby Digital. If the switch is set to INT the external speakers will not function. Turn the TV off before changing the position of the switch.

Q Why is there no sound from the external front speakers?

A Check that the External speaker switch has been set to EXT.

Q Why is there no sound from the external rear speakers?

A Check that the Rear speaker option in Surround set up is set to YES and the Surround out option

is set to SP OUT.

Q Why is there no sound from the connected external amplifier?

A Check that the Rear speaker option in Surround set up is set to YES and the Surround out option
