Discs to avoid

Discs spin at high speed inside the player. If you can see that a disc is cracked, chipped, warped, or otherwise damaged, don't risk using it in your player—you could end up damaging it.

This player is designed for use with conven- tional, fully circular discs only. Use of shaped discs is not recommended for this product. Pioneer disclaims all liability arising in connection with the use of shaped discs.

Cleaning the pickup lens

The DVD player’s lens should not become dirty in normal use, but if for some reason it should malfunction due to dust or dirt, consult your nearest Pioneer-authorized service center. Although lens cleaners for CD players are commercially available, we do not recommend using them since some may damage the lens.

Problems with condensation

Condensation may form inside the player if it is brought into a warm room from outside, or if the temperature of the room rises quickly.

Although the condensation won’t damage the player, it may temporarily impair its perfor- mance. For this reason you should leave it to adjust to the warmer temperature for about an hour before switching on and using.

Cleaning the unit’s exterior

Use a polishing cloth or dry cloth to wipe off dust and dirt. If the surfaces are very dirty, wipe with a soft cloth dipped in some neutral cleanser diluted five or six times with water and wrung out well, then wipe again with a dry cloth.

Do not use furniture wax or cleaners. Never use thinners, benzine or insecticide sprays or other chemicals on or near this unit since they will corrode the surfaces.

If you use a chemical-impregnated cleaning cloth, read the instructions care- fully before use. These cloths may leave smear marks on half-mirror finish surfaces; if this happens, finish with a dry cloth.

Unplug the unit when cleaning.
