CD-R/RW Compatibility Information

This system is not compatible with multi-session discs. If you try a multi-session disc, only the first session will be played.

Use CD-R or CD-RW media for recording your CD audio files, MP3/WMA files or JPEG image files.

The discs must be in ISO9660 Level 2 format (folders can be up to eight levels deep).

Variable bit-rates (VBR) from 64 kbps to 384 kbps are supported for MP3, from 16 kbps to 192 kbps are supported for WMA. (Playing times may display incorrectly with VBR.)

WMA files must have the copyright option turned off.

Sampling rates 44.1/48 kHz are supported for WMA.

MP3 files should be MPEG1 Audio Layer 3 format, 32 kHz,

44.1 kHz (recommended) or 48 kHz, 32 kbps - 320 kbps

(128 kbps recommended). Incompatible files will not play.

This system only plays tracks that are named with the file extension “.mp3”, “.MP3”, “.wma”, “.WMA”, “.jpeg”, “.JPEG”, “.jpg” or “.JPG”.

This system is not compatible with progressive JPEG images. The maximum resolution is 1600 1200 pixels.

If the file size is large, it may take some time to start playback.

Note

If the disc contains non-MP3/WMA/JPEG format data that has an extension listed above, the DVD Player will playback the data and may cause noise or malfunction.

Handling Discs

Do not touch the playback side of the disc.

Playback side

Do not attach paper or tape to discs.

Cleaning Discs

Fingerprints and dust on the disc cause picture and sound deterioration. Wipe the disc from the center outwards with a soft cloth. Always keep the disc clean.

If you cannot wipe off the dust with a soft cloth, wipe the disc lightly with a slightly moistened soft cloth and finish with a dry cloth.

Do not use any type of solvent such as thinner, benzine, commercially available cleaners or antistatic spray for vinyl LPs. It may damage the disc.

Storing Discs

Do not store discs in a place subject to direct sunlight or near heat sources.

Do not store discs in places subject to moisture and dust such as a bathroom or near a humidifier.

Store discs vertically in a case. Stacking or placing objects on discs outside of their case may cause warping.
