Connecting to an External Amplifier

POWER IC ON (Initial setting) / POWER IC OFF

When an external amplifier is connected, sound quality can be improved by stopping the power supply of the built-in amplifier.

POWER IC OFF : Use this mode when the front and rear pre- amplifier of the unit are used to drive an external amplifier connected to the speakers. In this setting, the head unit’s internal amplifier has no output to drive speakers.

No sound is produced by the system when the power output is set to OFF.

If an external amplifier only for the subwoofer is connected, set to ON.

Setting the Digital Output

OPT OUT ON / OPT OUT OFF (Initial setting)

To connect to a digitally to an audio processor, the optical digital output must be turned ON.

If DVD Audio is used, sound is output via Ai-NET regardless of this setting.

DVD Setup Operation

DVD Setup Operation is performed by the remote control unit.

The following 4 steps are common to each of the DVD settings. Refer to the specific section for details.

1Press SETUP before inserting a disc, or when in stop mode.

The setup menu appears on the monitor.
