ON SCREEN INSTALLATION (CONTD)

VCR Control (DSX5375R only)

Use this function to set up the receiver to automatically record programs on your VCR. Please make sure

the VCR Controller is correctly positioned in front of your VCR and connected to the VCR CONTROL output jack.

At the installation menu, select VCR Control by using the ▲ or ▼ buttons to highlight this option. Press OK

An intermediate screen will appear stating that it is important to consult this section of the manual before proceeding. Press OK

Refer to page 21 for setting up the VCR Controller

Point Dish

Use this function to manually point the dish to determine that it is correctly aligned with the satellite(s). Refer to the separate satellite dish Installation Guide for instructions on how to physically adjust the satellite dish angles.You may want to have a helper to read the onscreen displays during this procedure. Signal strength readings change approxi- mately 2 seconds after the adjustment is made. Note that single dish installations often show higher signal strength than installations which receive signals from two or three satellites.The onscreen display will tell you how to align your dish based on your zip code.

At the Installation menu, select Point Dish by using the ▲ /▼ buttons to highlight this option. Press OK.

The on screen displays a signal strength meter. Adjust the dish until the signal strength meter stabilizes at a maximum reading.The range is 0 to

100.It is recommended to obtain a signal strength of at least 60.

Press BACK to return to the installation menu.

NOTE:

Use the ▲ or ▼ buttons to switch between satellites. Use the  or  buttons to switch between transponders for the selected satellite.

System Test

This option performs a test of system.This information is useful if you need to contact customer service.

At the Installation menu, select System Test, then press OK. After a few seconds, the test results will appear on screen.

Use the ▲ or ▼ buttons to scroll through the dialog. Press the Page +/- buttons to scroll by a full page.

Press BACK to return to the Installation menu.

The on-screen Installation should now be

complete. If you are not receiving a good picture (or are encountering other signal problems), first repeat these steps. If this does not help, refer to the Smart Help sec- tion of this manual (page 39).
