Before Use

Read this before operation

<As the unit may become warm during operation, always leave sufficient space above the unit for ven- tilation.

<The voltage supplied to the unit should match the voltage as printed on the rear panel. If you are in any doubt regarding this matter, consult an electrician.

<Choose the installation location of your unit carefully. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight or close to a source of heat. Also avoid locations subject to vibrations and excessive dust, heat, cold or moisture.

<Do not open the cabinet as this might result in dam- age to the circuitry or electrical shock. If a foreign object should get into the set, contact your dealer.

<When removing the power plug from the wall outlet, always pull directly on the plug, never yank the cord.

<Do not attempt to clean the unit with chemical sol- vents as this might damage the finish. Use a clean, dry cloth.

<Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.

Back-up Memory Function

This is the function which preserves the preset mem- ory and most-recent memory functions. In the event of a power failure, or if the power cord of this unit is disconnected from the electric outlet, the back-up memory will preserve the preset memory and most- recent memory functions for as long as approximate- ly 15 days.

If the power supply is interrupted for 15 days or longer, the memory settings will be erased.

When to Use RESET

<When this system is subjected to an electrical shock.

<When the power is irregular.

In these cases, try the following

Press the ENTER button for more than 5 seconds.

Note:

If the ENTER button is pressed for more than 5 seconds Standby mode, all the memory will be erased.

Before Connection

CAUTION

Turn off the power of all the equipment before mak- ing connections.

Read instructions of each component you intend to use with this unit.

<Be sure to insert each plug securely. To prevent hum and noise, do not bundle the connection cords with the power cord or speaker cord.
