2.1.1 Installing the battery

1.Open the battery/SD memory card cover.

Slide the battery/SD memory card cover in the direction indicated by the arrow 1 and flip the cover open 2.

2.Insert the battery with the S symbol facing toward the LCD monitor while using the side of the battery to press the battery lock lever in the direction indicated by the arrow.

3.Close the battery/SD memory card cover.

2.1.2 Removing the battery

1.Open the battery/SD memory card cover.

2.Release the battery by using your finger to press the battery lock lever in the same direction as when you inserted the battery.

3.Pull the battery out.

Insert the battery correctly. If the battery is incorrectly oriented, it may cause a malfunc- tion.

Do not remove the battery when the camera is turned on.

If you do not intend to use the camera for a long time, remove the battery.

If the camera is left without the battery for a long time, the date will be reset.
