Shooting (All Shooting and Exposure Modes)

The camera takes time to turn on: Delete files or format the memory card.

The shutter-release is disabled:

The battery is exhausted (0 15, 16).

The memory card is locked or full (0 18).

The flash is charging (0 55).

The camera is not in focus (0 21).

You are currently filming a slow motion movie (0 38).

Only one picture is taken each time the shutter-release button is pressed in continuous release mode: Continuous shooting is not available if the flash is raised in Continuous mode.

No photo taken when remote control shutter-release button is pressed:

Replace battery in remote control.

Choose a remote control mode (0 52).

The remote control standby timer has expired (0 62).

The remote is not pointed at the camera or the infrared receiver is not visible (0 13, 53).

The remote is too far from the camera (0 53).

Bright light is interfering with remote.

Smudges appear in photographs: Clean the front and rear lens elements or the dust shield (0 71).

Flicker or banding appears in movies or in the displays: Choose a Flicker reduc- tion setting that matches the local AC power supply (0 62).

Menu items are unavailable: Some options are only available in particular shooting or exposure modes (0 48).

Movies

Cannot record movies: The movie-record button can only be used to record

movies in movie mode (0 36).n No sound is recorded for movies:

Microphone off is selected for Movie sound options > Microphone (0 61).

Live audio is not recorded with slow-motion movies (0 40) or Motion Snapshots (0 44).
