Frequency slider - affects the sharpness of image details. The high frequency setting maximizes res- olution, and the low-frequency setting maximizes acutance. The optimal frequency setting will vary from image to image. It is recommended to view the image at various magnifications to judge the results.

Contrast slider - controls the contrast of the set frequency. The degree of sharpness can be set between 0 and 2 in 0.1 increments. The higher the value, the greater the contrast; compare the examples above, which are at the maximum setting, with the original image on the facing page. The degree of sharpness can also be entered in the text box next to the slider. Like frequency, the optimal contrast setting will vary from image to image.

Reduce and enlarge button - to adjust the size of the preview image in the sharpness window. The preview image can be displayed at 25%, 50%, 100%, and 200%.

Reset button - resets all changes made to the image.
