SPECIAL FOCUSING SITUATIONS

Some scenes or subjects are difficult for the autofocus system to lock on to. When the focus will not lock, focus lock (p. 29) on another object the same distance from you as the main subject, recompose, then take the picture.

The autofocus may not lock on the following;

• Bright light sources such as the sun or neon lights.

• Highly reflective surfaces such as water or mirrors.

• Flames or fireworks.

Dark objects and surfaces with low reflectances.

Objects behind glass, bars, or other such partitions.
