PREPARATION

Connections

This section explains how to connect the DVD-S30 to your TV or external AV amplifier (AVC-S30 etc.). For connections related to external AV amplifier, refer to the manual for it.

Note

Connect the power cord of the DVD player or external components after connection of all cables are complete.

To make component video connection instead of video connection using the supplied video pin cable, connect COMPONENT (Y, PB, PR) jacks of the DVD-S30 and component video input jacks of the TV using a commercially available component video cable.

To make SCART connection (U.K model only) instead of video connection using the supplied video pin cable, connect SCART jack of the DVD-S30 and SCART input jack of the TV using a commercially available SCART cable.

Other audio connection

To make analog audio connection instead of digital connection using the optical cable, connect AUDIO OUT (L, R) jacks of the DVD-S30 and audio input jacks of the AV amplifier using a commercially available audio pin cable.

COMPONENT jacks can output a progressive scan signal. To enjoy high quality DVD video with progressive scan mode, set “PROGRESSIVE” in the Setup menu to “ON” (page 23).
