1.Make sure the ground and the trench are firm and compacted.

3.The trench for the curb should be cut with a good, sharp edging shovel or square mouth shovel (not included). The ground should be relatively dry. The trench also needs to be wide enough to accommodate the turns and curves the Curb Machine will have to make. (See Figure G.)
